Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has appointed Abdurrazak Datti Salihi as the Executive Chairman of Kano Internal Revenue Service (KIRS).
Before the appointment of Salihi, Bala Muhammad Inuwa, was the acting Chairman of the agency for four months.
But will now remain as the Managing Director (MD) of Kano State Agricultural Supply Company (KASCO) -a position he held while chairing KIRS.
Ganduje, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS) Abba Anwar, while appreciating Inuwa for “acting well, said “We are delighted by Inuwa’s courage and dedication to KIRS. As Acting Chairman, he captained very well the ship of KIRS from March to date.”
According to the statement, the appointment of Salihi’s as the chairman takes effect immediately.
Ganduje, however, advised the new KIRS chairman to serve well and work closely with his staff so as to move the agency forward for the overall development of Kano state.

Salihi is a financial analyst, Chattered and Certified Tax Accountant with over 20 years of experience and skills in financial management in banking and private sector.
Prior to his appointment, Salihi was the Director, State Integrated Financial Management Information System (SIFMIS) at the Kano State Ministry of Finance.
He has also served as Director of Personal Income Tax (PIT), Kano State Internal Revenue Service.
Other capacity where Salihi as worked, includes; position as the Head of Finance/Regional Accountant, Bank of Agriculture (BoA), Kano Zonal office.
He was also Manager, Nigerian Agricultural Cooperative and Rural Development Bank (NACRDB) in Sokoto State and Head of Finance of the same bank, among other positions.
