Ekohotblog reports that movie actor, Alec Baldwin has accidentally killed a cinematographer and injured movie director while on a movie set.
The woman who happened to be a director of photography Halyna Hutchins, was conveyed to the hospital via helicopter and pronounced dead by medical personnel at University of New Mexico Hospital, according to the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office.

Director Joel Souza, was also transported to Christus St. Vincent’s Regional Medical Center by ambulance for care but details on his present state were not released.
The movie, Rust, was being filmed at the Bonanza Creek ranch outside of Santa Fe, New Mexico on Thursday (21 October) and has now been shut down.
A statement from Santa Fe Sheriff’s office reads:
“The sheriff’s office confirms that two individuals were shot on the set of Rust. Halyna Hutchins, 42, director of photography and Joel Souza, 48, director, were shot when a prop firearm was discharged by Alec Baldwin, 68, producer and actor,” it said.
“Ms Hutchins was transported, via helicopter, to University of New Mexico Hospital where she was pronounced dead by medical personnel. Mr Souza was transported by ambulance to Christus St. Vincent Regional Medical center where he is undergoing treatment for his injuries.”
“This investigation remains open and active. No charges have been filed in regard to this incident.”
