EKO HOT BLOG reports that Atiku visited Tambuwal at his Abuja residence on Monday, days after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain regained freedom.
Tambuwal, who also served as Speaker of the House of Representatives, had been detained by the EFCC over allegations of financial impropriety during his tenure as governor.
Sharing details of the visit on X, Atiku said he was pleased to see Tambuwal in high spirits despite his recent ordeal. “I visited Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal at his residence in Abuja earlier today. I am happy seeing him in good, unbroken, and unwavering spirit,” Atiku wrote.
Meanwhile, Tambuwal has openly declared that Atiku would have been a better president than Bola Tinubu. Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, Tambuwal argued that Tinubu does not fully understand how the federal system operates.
He claimed that while Atiku has extensive federal experience and a deeper understanding of governance, Tinubu’s political career has largely been limited to Lagos State. Tambuwal also criticized the current administration for failing to appoint ambassadors more than two years after assuming office.
“Atiku is better at getting the job done than Tinubu. He understands the dynamics of running the government. Tinubu has always been confined to the locality in Lagos and has never been a federal operator. Look at it, up till now we don’t have ambassadors, two years and almost three months into the administration, what does that tell you?” Tambuwal said.

The PDP stalwart maintained that Atiku’s leadership qualities remain unmatched, stressing that Nigeria requires a leader who understands governance beyond regional politics.
