Bad News As Chelsea Record 20 Covid-19 Positive Cases, Closes Academy

Just twenty-four hours after their win over league 2 side Morecambe Fc in the FA Cup, the news broke out that Chelsea have closed their academy due to positive cases of coronavirus recorded.

Since the start of the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic across the world and the UK, the FA have cancelled some fixtures in the UK and now has an impact on Chelsea’s youth teams, EKO HOT BLOG  gathered.

According to Nizaar Kinsella who is Chelsea goal correspondent “The club have close their academy building and instructed players and coaches to say at home for a week after an outbreak of 20 positive cases of covid-19 hit the club”.

Meanwhile Frank Lampard and Chelsea’s senior female team manager, Emma Hayes will not be affected because of separate bubbles under implementation in Cobham.

However, the premier league is now in discussions about rearranging the development squad match with West Ham and the U18 match with Brighton that were due to be played this weekend.
