EKO HOT BLOG reports that a soldier stationed at Banex Plaza in Wuse 2, Abuja, reportedly slapped a woman into a coma.

The plaza has been closed for four days following an incident where thugs assaulted soldiers over a transaction dispute with a trader.

The altercation began when a trader sold a defective phone to a customer, who then called soldiers for assistance. Instead of resolving the issue peacefully, the trader allegedly summoned thugs who attacked the soldiers.

Despite police intervention, soldiers returned to the plaza, compelling traders to shut down their businesses immediately.

According to Daily Trust, the recent incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when some soldiers accosted the lady who crossed a barricade at the plaza.

After asking her some questions, one of them slapped her heavily and she collapsed. It was gathered that the lady was rushed into a van which sped off the scene.

However, it is unclear if she was being taken to the hospital for medical attention.

Meanwhile, traders have been counting their losses over the military action, which they said could have been resolved without the lockdown.
