The Chief Judge of Ondo State, Justice Olarenwaju Akeredolu has declined the Ondo State House of Assembly request to set up a probe panel against the Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi.
The Chief Judge, Justice Olarenwaju reacting to the request made by the national assembly led by its Speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun, said the Assembly has fallen short of the constitutional requirements to impeach the embattled Deputy governor.
The judge also said in a statement that the national assembly needs two-third of the majority vote before the Deputy Governor can be impeached.

It was reported earlier this week that the Ondo state house of assembly had initiated an impeachment panel to have its Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi probed.
Fourteen members of the assembly had supported the impeachment notice, listing seven allegations including gross misconducts, amongst others against him while nine other members of the Assembly did not support the move.
Justice Akeredolu also said she had received a letter from Ajayi’s lawyers stating that the process of impeachment was sub judice.
