Indigenes, monarchs, and political leaders gathered to witness a grand ceremony in Epe as Prince Saheed Adedeji Adenusi was installed as Jagun Oba of Epe Land.

The Jagun Oba of Epe Land, a title of cultural significance and royal affiliation, is conferred by the Oloja of Epe Land, His Royal Majesty Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun.
Prince Saheed Adedeji Adenusi, who also holds the title of high chief, was conferred the Jagun Oba of Epe Land, and coronated by HRM Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun on December 12, 2024, at the Oloja’s palace.

The newly installed Jagun Oba of Epe Land expressed his excitement as the community found him worthy of the title.
“I feel loved by my people, because it’s not something that is personal, it’s a community thing. I feel loved by my people, and that’s why I’m here,” he said while speaking with the press.
He further emphasized the community’s expectations of him as the new Jagun Oba of Epe Land.
“I am a team player. There are chiefs and the Oloja in council, so we will team up to contribute to the development of our community, and I’ll continuously contribute my own quota,” he said.
The installation proceeded with traditional processions and rites performed by chiefs and the Oloja of Epe, which officially marked the installation.
Following the official coronation was a celebration ceremony, where dignitaries, political leaders, and indigenes gathered to wine and dine.
Honorable Wale Raji, representative of Epe Division at the federal constituency, who attended the grand celebration, commended and congratulated the newly installed Jagun Oba.

“It is a well-deserved honor. He is eminently qualified for this title. Saheed has been a person who, despite his schedule as a public servant, has remained close to his community,” he said during an interview with Ekohotblog.
