Courtrooms in Osun State have been shut down with immediate effect with court staff below level 12 ordered to work from home.
The development is sequel to a directive given by state chief judge, Justice Adepele Ojo.
The directive is coming in the wake of five cases of the deadly B117 strain of COVID-19 recorded in State.
According to a statement signed by the Chief Registrar, M. A Lasisi, the chief judge ordered all Osun State staff of Judiciary to undergo COVID-19 test immediately.
She ordered all courtrooms and offices where the affected officer is working to be closed down forthwith until further notice.
“Hence, all staff of the Judiciary below Level 12 are hereby directed to stay at, and work from home, to contain the spread of the pandemic.
“All staff affected should stop coming to work with effect from Monday, 1st February 2021.
“Osun State Government is gracious enough to be conducting the tests free of charge,” the statement read.
