EKO HOT BLOG reports that Manchester United are set to announce the arrival of Tyrell Malacia after the second part of his Old Trafford medical is completed today, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
The Feyenoord left-back will become the first signing since Erik ten Hag was appointed as the Red Devils’ boss following the conclusion of last season
The 22-year-old left-back enjoyed a very impressive campaign that saw the Eredivisie giants reach the final of the Europa Conference League. Malacia, who can also be deployed at right-back, made 50 appearances for Feyenoord is all competitions, contributing five assists and one goal from full-back.
Initially, Malacia appeared destined to follow Barcelona ace Frenkie de Jong through the doors at Old Trafford, after the Reds reportedly agreed a deal.
But as United struggle to get a move for the Dutch maestro over the line, and also come to terms with Cristiano Ronaldo’s
bombshell news that he allegedly wants to depart the club, Malacia looks set to be the first new signing of the Ten Hag era.
Reports from the BBC understand a deal for Malacia is set to be completed within the next 24 hours. A fee of around £ 15 million will be enough to bring the Netherlands international to Old Trafford.

The new United boss is a huge fan of Malacia, even hinting that he was keen on signing him when he was still the manager of Ajax. “We do think he is a good player, yes,” the then Ajax head coach told reporters.
“Is Malacia on our list [of targets]? I’m not going to tell you.”
