The Bauchi State Government has placed the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport in Bauchi under surveillance to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the state.
The Commissioner of Health, Dr Aliyu Maigoro, said on Wednesday the aim of the activation of a surveillance strategy at the airport was to ensure that no person with the virus gained access into the state.

Meanwhile, the Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has expressed concern over the outbreak of coronavirus and urged Nigerian Muslims to offer fast and pray against the spread of the disease in the country.
A statement by JNI’s Secretary-General, Dr Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, on behalf of the Sultan told Muslims to observe strict adherence to personal hygiene to halt the spread of the disease.
