COVID-19 Cases Surge As NCDC Confirms 790 New Infections, One Fatality

  • Total cases confirmed – 179,908
  • Total cases discharged – 166,203
  • Total deaths recorded – 2,195

The latest figures by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirms that Nigeria now has a total of 179,908 COVID-19 cases.

In its latest case update dated August 11, the NCDC reports 790 new cases with 1 COVID-related death.

The new cases were reported in 13 states – Lagos-574, Rivers-83, Ondo-38, Ogun-31, Oyo-23, Delta-10, FCT-9, Ekiti-7, Edo-6, Osun-4, Anambra-2, Bayelsa-2 and Plateau-1.

According to the NCDC, 0 cases were in reported in Kano, Nasarawa and Sokoto States.
