The ancient city of Kano was thrown into panic on Saturday following a confirmed index case of COVID -19 in the state.
Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa, Commissioner for Health, confirms the case on Saturday.
The Commissioner failed to give further details, but sources confirmed that the victim, a resident of Lagos was said to have arrived Kano through Abuja a couple of days ago.
A security source in the city told this tabloid that when he took I’ll, he was the first place on admission in a private hospital before he was transferred on referral to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.

The source further confided that his blood sample was taken on Thursday, and the results confirmed he was asymptomatic.
The story which had since penetrated the social media had caused panic among residents.
The source revealed that contact tracing has commenced, adding that a meeting between the state tax force on COVID -19 with the governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is on to address the emergency.
