As part of activities marking its 25th anniversary, the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO) has once again brought smiles, hope, and relief to the people of Lekki LCDA and its environs with a comprehensive free medical outreach program held at the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Secretariat.

The event provided residents with access to vital healthcare services, including free health check-ups, screenings, medical examinations, prescriptions, drugs, dental care, eye tests, treatment, and distribution of free eyeglasses, among other interventions.
The First Lady of Lagos State and Chairman of COWLSO, Her Excellency Dr. (Mrs.) Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, graced the occasion and delivered a rousing speech that highlighted COWLSO’s mission. She said:
“This program represents the heart of what COWLSO stands for, bringing health, hope, and support directly to the people.”
She also acknowledged the efforts and inspiration of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator (Mrs.) Oluremi Tinubu, OON, CON, whose consistent advocacy paved the way for impactful women-driven initiatives like COWLSO.
The event drew dignitaries from across Lagos State, including the Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa.
The Executive Chairman of Lekki LCDA, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), was represented by the Party Chairman, Bishop Babatunde Adedayo, while the Chairperson of Lekki LCDA, Mrs. Ramat Kasali, also attended alongside COWLSO executives, members, and respected royal fathers from host communities.
In her remarks, Mrs. Ramat Kasali commended COWLSO for its consistency in championing health, education, and women empowerment. She noted:
“Programs like this reflect the true value of collaboration between government and community leaders to improve the welfare of residents.”
Speaking on behalf of Engr. Kasali, Bishop Adedayo reaffirmed the LCDA’s support for people-oriented initiatives, stressing that the Chairman remains committed to healthcare partnerships that deliver tangible benefits to residents.
The outreach recorded a large turnout of beneficiaries, many of whom expressed heartfelt gratitude.
For several participants, the free dental care, eye treatment, and essential drugs received were described as “life-changing interventions.”
This milestone outreach, organized as part of COWLSO’s 25 years of service, reinforced the importance of preventive healthcare while showcasing the power of collective action.
The presence of the Lagos First Lady, alongside local government leaders and community stakeholders, underscored a shared commitment to building healthier and stronger communities.
