EKO HOT BLOG reports that a former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has asked the government to go ahead and declare bandits as federal civil servants since it is reluctant to pronounce them terrorists.
Well-meaning Nigerians, individuals and groups have provided various reason the Buhari administration should declare bandits’ groups in the North as terrorists.

However, the government has remained adamant to the calls, saying that there is a process to declare a group as a terrorist organisation.

In a tweet on Monday morning, the former lawmaker represented Kaduna Central District at the 8th Assembly, said, “They [bandits] killed Muslim worshipers in their mosques in Niger and Katsina State; they killed Christians in their Churches in Kaduna State; if the Government doesn’t want to declare them terrorists, it should declare them federal civil servants.”
