DSVA Shines Light on SGBV in Iba

Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has taken its campaign against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) to the Iba LCDA Community Development Council, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts in eradicating all forms of abuses and violence.

According to Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi, Executive Secretary of Lagos DSVA, “Reaching out to communities is crucial in the fight against SGBV. We must work together to create a safe society for all.”

Vivour-Adeniyi was represented by officials from the DSVA’s Community Department, who highlighted the State Government’s commitment to providing support services for Lagosians, including medical, legal, empowerment, psycho-social support, and law enforcement.

The participants were encouraged to join the fight against SGBV by exposing perpetrators, bringing them to justice, and creating a safe society for all.

The importance of prompt reporting was stressed, with the Executive Secretary urging community leaders to report any form of abuse through the official toll-free line: 08000333333.

In his response, the Iba CDC Secretary, Mr. Agbogunleri Damilare Thomas, appreciated the initiative and assured the state government of the community’s cooperation.

The event marked a significant step forward in the fight against SGBV in Lagos State, emphasizing the power of collaboration and community engagement in creating a safer society for all.
