Eden Hazard’s Exclusive Interview On Zidane, Ronaldo, And More

The Belgium national team captain Eden Hazard had conversations with a Belgium broadcasting station owned by French community in Belgium yesterday on the occasion of his 30th birthday.

The former Chelsea player who celebrated his 30th birthday on Thursday 7 January, 2020 had series of conversation with RTBF Sport yesterday where he mentioned those debuts he will never forge,  EKO HOT BLOG  gathered.

Here are the conversations:

•RTBF Sport: What can we wish you on this special day?

Eden Hazard: “Lots of things. May it get better with the injuries already. Because people, (and me first), expect that I play a little more, and that I play well. And more generally… health.”

•RTBF Sport: Eden, how does it feel to be 30?

Eden Hazard: “Nothing more than 28 or 29 years old. We are starting to get old but hey, I still feel young. That is the most important thing.”

•RTBF Sport: 3 highlights of your career?

Eden Hazard: “I would take my first pro match in Lille, my first match at Chelsea and my first match at Real Madrid. A new club, a new league… it’s a discovery and what they say… we never forget the first time, right?”

•RTBF Sport: Will you be a footballer at 35?

Eden Hazard: “I don’t know. I think about it sometimes, but at the end of my contract I will be 33 and a half years old. We’ll see if the body leaves me alone. If the injuries accumulate I won’t make it to 35…”

•RTBF Sport: If you could change the course of just one game in your career?

Eden Hazard: “Easy… 2018, World Cup semi-final against France. Umtiti misses his header, we go against and Romelu makes 1-0. We win and ciao… we go to the final.”

 

•RTBF Sport: FIFA offers you to change a football rule, which one?

Eden Hazard: “I would remove the VAR. It takes away so much fun in football, the emotions. We score and then we wonder what’s going to happen..”

 

•RTBF Sport: Something you admire of Cristiano Ronaldo?

Eden Hazard: “His thirst to win, his thirst for trophies, his desire to always want to score.”

•RTBF Sport: If you could inherit something from Zidane?

Eden Hazard: ” His class… although I also have class… but he has more!”

•RTBF Sport: The most beautiful gift received from your children?

Eden Hazard “They’re still small but they’re drawings… it’s not much but it brings so much happiness… Last year, I remember, they brought them to me in bed with a little coffee. It was perfect!”

•RTBF Sport: What is a successful birthday for you?

Eden Hazard: “With loved ones around a good meal. With the children, the family. It’s rare to get together with brothers, parents… so all together, that would be the best.”
