Enugu Govt Demolishes House Of Man Who Pulled Down Airport Fence

– Enugu government has demolished the house of the man who pull down the airport fence

– The action was carried out Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority, ECTDA

– Although the government has denied that the demolition has anything to do with the action the man has taken against the government property

Residence of Architect John Emejulu, who demolished about one kilometre perimeter fence of Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu, has been pulled down by the Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority, ECTDA.

The private residence is situated along Eziokwe street, off Nike Lake road, Trans Ekulu, Enugu.

According to the Chairman of ECTDA, Dr Josef Onoh, who was at the site to oversee the demolition, he explained that they agency was acting based on court order obtained to demolish the duplex.

Speaking on the demolition, the chairman said the property was pulled down because it stood on water way and needed to give way, thereby denying thatt he action was in reprisal to Emejulu’s demolition of the airport fence being constructed as part of the airport rehabilitation.

Emejulu had on Wednesday, August 12 executed an order of court at the disputed airport land do take back his 400 plots he said he bought from Nike Community in 2008.

Minister for Aviation, Hadi Sirika who visited the airport demolition on Thursday, August 14, has threatened to deal with Emejulu for destroying Federation government asset.

Emejulu is yet to be found after demolition of the airport perimeter fence.
