Ekohotblog reports that the prestigious Epe Club held a grand Carol Service on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at its clubhouse, T-Junction, Epe, as part of activities marking its 50th anniversary and the forthcoming Christmas celebrations.
The event featured soul-lifting musical performances by choirs from St. Michael Anglican Church, Epe; Immaculate Catholic Church, Ibonwon; and the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Epe. The choirs rendered various praise and worship songs, while ministers of God delivered Bible readings centered on the birth of Jesus Christ.
Reverend Onifade of St. Michael Anglican Church delivered the only exhortation of the event, titled “Joy to the World.” He emphasized the significance of Christ’s birth as a source of eternal joy, urging attendees to embrace Jesus as the ultimate source of true happiness.

“For anyone that desires real joy, he must recognize that Jesus Christ is the source of genuine, everlasting joy,” Reverend Onifade declared. “No matter the situations in life, we must remain joyous and glorify the Lord, who remains the solution to the world’s problems.”
Clergymen in attendance offered prayers for the continued growth and success of Epe Club and its members, including its president, Hon. Engr. Adebola Rasheed Shabi. They commended the club for acknowledging God as its foundation over the past five decades.
In his remarks, Hon. Karmadeen Olaide Lawal (popularly known as KOL), a former House of Assembly aspirant for Epe Constituency I, congratulated the club on reaching this significant milestone.
“Epe Club has stood as a beacon of unity and progress for 50 years. I commend the founding fathers for their vision and the current members for keeping the legacy alive,” said Lawal.

He called on the youths of Epe Division to join the club and contribute to the region’s development.
“Epe Club offers a unique platform for vibrant youths who are ready to make an impact. I urge them to seize the opportunity and become part of this esteemed organization.”
Mr. Abimbola Olanrewaju (Bobtanner), another club member, echoed similar sentiments, highlighting the club’s significant contributions to Epe’s growth across various sectors over the years. He also extended Christmas and New Year greetings to Christian faithful.
Dignitaries at the event included the Vice President of the club, Barr. Uthman; the General Secretary, Mr. Akim Durojaiye Oluwo; the Vice Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Owolomoshe; the immediate past president of the club, Hadji Olowo Fowoshe; and Engr. Bola Matanmi, among others.
As the carol service concluded, members and guests expressed joy over the club’s achievements and reaffirmed their commitment to its mission of fostering development in Epe Division.
“Epe Club is more than a social platform; it’s a community builder,” said Hon. Owolomoshe. “This carol service reflects our commitment to not just development but also to faith, unity, and the spirit of Christmas.”
