- A fetish object has been positioned in front of a police station to ‘ward off gunmen’.
It was like a scene in one of the Nollywood movies when some residents woke up to a sight of a fetish object placed in front of the Police Area Command at Bende Road in Umuahia, the Abia State capital.
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that human and vehicular movements have been restricted in the area since the placement of the fetish object.
Some of the residents, who were seen discussing the strange incident in hushed tones, said it was placed there to protect policemen from a series of attacks by gunmen.

EKO HOT BLOG understands that police stations in Abia State have suffered various attacks by unknown gunmen suspected to be members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN), the armed wing of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Security operatives have been killed while many police stations have been razed by the gunmen.
The Abia State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Geoffrey Ogbonna, could not be reached for comment on the development as of the time of writing this report.
