The federal government lifted the previous suspended order on replacement and activation of old Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) card.
This was incorporated into a statement on Thursday, signed by the Director, Public Affairs at NCC, Ikechukwu Adinde, by asserting that the lifting of the prohibition was on the condition that the individual must be registered and be provided with a National Identification Number (NIN).
EKO HOT BLOG had earlier reported that the government had on December 9, announced the suspension of selling and activating new SIM cards through the networks.

The suspension order as set out by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, was scheduled to last until the Subscriber Verification was completed in Registration Database, which aims to reach global and quality standards in the delivery of SIM cards.
For the Committee, the lifting of the prohibition has become mandatory for the federal government’s desire to strengthen the realization of the registration of the SIM card exercise of September 2019.
