MONACO IN TALKS FOR TORREIRA

Monaco are in talks with Arsenal over the possibility of taking midfielder Lucas Torreira on loan. Earlier this month, Arsenal technical director Edu revealed a number of clubs had approached Arsenal asking about Torreira’s situation. Fiorentina and Cagliari were interested.

However, Atletico Madrid would have to agree to cut his loan short before any deal could be done. Edu admitted there were “worries over Torreira” as he’s only started two La Liga games this season.

Chelsea are interested in signing Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Real Madrid are favourites to sign the 20-year-old Norway international, who has scored 37 goals in 37 appearances for Dortmund in all competitions, and are confident he will end up at the Bernabeu.

In addition to Haaland, Chelsea are also said to be among a host of clubs interested in Bayern Munich defender David Alaba. The 28-year-old Austria international has turned down Bayern’s offer of a new contract and will be a free agent at the end of the season.

GILMOUR ‘ASKS TO GO ON LOAN’

Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour has asked to go on loan as he looks to cement his place in Scotland’s European Championship squad, according to the Daily Mail. The 19-year-old wasn’t in Chelsea’s matchday squad to face Wolves on Wednesday, Thomas Tuchel’s first game in charge.

Rangers are reportedly on alert to take the midfielder to Ibrox until the end of the season.

OFFICIAL: COVENTRY SIGN REID FOR ‘SIGNIFICANT’ FEE

Ross County left-back Josh Reid has signed for Coventry City. The 18-year-old only made his competitive debut at the start of this season but has played 24 times in all competitions for the Scottish Premiership club.

Coventry secured his services after paying a “significant undisclosed fee” and Reid has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half year deal.

Aberdeen winger Connor McLennan has agreed a contract extension that will see him remain at Pittodrie until 2023.
