Fulham Frustrate Arsenal In 1-1 Thriller At Craven Cottage

Arsenal’s late drama ended in disappointment as a disallowed goal denied them a chance to close the gap on Premier League leaders Liverpool, resulting in a 1-1 draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Bukayo Saka thought he had secured a vital victory for the Gunners when he headed in Gabriel Martinelli’s cross with two minutes remaining.

However, the goal was ruled out after Martinelli was deemed offside in the build-up.

Fulham took a surprise lead in the first half through Raul Jimenez, who notched his sixth goal of the season. The Mexican forward pounced on Kenny Tete’s long ball, slotting past David Raya from a difficult angle against the run of play.

Arsenal, eager to capitalize on Liverpool’s postponed Merseyside derby against Everton, struggled to create clear chances in the opening half.

Their best effort came from Saka, whose shot on target was comfortably dealt with by Fulham’s defence.

Mikel Arteta’s side responded quickly after the break, equalizing six minutes into the second half with a well-executed corner routine. William Saliba converted Kai Havertz’s precise knockdown to level the score.
