EKO HOT BLOG reports that suspected gunmen attacked the Igboukwu Cattle Market in Anambra State’s Aguata Local Government Area, killing around 20 cows and goats.

The gunmen reportedly went to the market on Thursday night after destroying the Aguata council secretariat.

A video that went viral on social media showed dead cows and goats at a livestock market, along with traders lamenting their losses.

Despite the fact that no human lives were lost, the hoodlums opened fire on the ranch’s cows and goats, according to the press.

Tochukwu Ikenga, a state police spokesperson, confirmed the event to City Round, saying it occurred after the gunmen set fire to the secretariat in Ekwulobia.

“It’s a horrible act on the animals.” On Thursday evening, several elements on motorcycles began firing indiscriminately into the air, then proceeded to the cattle market and shot some cattle and goats.

“We’ve increased our monitoring in that region, and our troops are on the job right now.” This is animal cruelty, and it must be stopped. “The livestock in question are also owned by local residents,” Ikenga stated.
