The Lagos State Ministry of Health has held a three-day retreat for management staff at the Protea Hotel, Ikeja, just as it identified the need for building a resilient healthcare system through creative innovation.
The Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, emphasised that health workers must acquire necessary innovative ideas geared towards an effective healthcare delivery system in order to achieve Universal Health coverage.
Prof. Abayomi noted that Lagos is striving to attain the model of a global world economy so that it can be a point of reference globally.

He stated that the theme of the programme “Strategic Planning and Transformation of the Health Sector in Lagos State” indicates the present administration’s commitment to developing, collaborating and executing health-related strategies centred on quality healthcare.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Olusegun Ogboye stated that the retreat aims at preparing health workers to achieve objectives of the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda.
He urged all participants to change the narrative in healthcare delivery by applying what they have learned from the retreat in the discharge of their duties.
