  • There was heavy traffic on Wednesday as police blocked Lagos Roads over IGP’s visit.

EKOHOTBLOG reports that motorists were stranded in Ikeja GRA, Lagos, and its environs on Wednesday morning following the blockade of major roads by police operatives.

It was gathered that the roads were barricaded by the security operatives over the impending visit of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba.

EKOHOTBLOG reports that the entire stretches of Joel Ogunnaike and Isaac John Roads in the state capital were blocked by the police on Wednesday as several patrol vehicles, including Armoured Personnel Carriers, were also stationed at strategic parts of Ikeja GRA.

The blockade, which caught thousands of residents unaware, started with many vehicles being diverted from the popular Joel Ogunnaike and Isaac John streets.

Many people were also forced to trek from Ikeja Under-Bridge to most parts of the GRA as commercial cabs and buses plying the area were also prevented.

Meanwhile, the IGP has not arrived the state as of the time of filing this report.
