A sixteen -year old girl (name withheld) in Owode Area of Ogun State had allegedly stabbed her father, Mr Adekoya Aderibegbe to death with a knife.
The girl was said to have been a serial victim of rape by her father and had been traumatized since her mother left her behind after separation with her father.
Speaking with the police on why she stabs her own father. She said that her mother left her father because of domestic violence. She labelled her father, “An Animal in human form. I never regret my action at all.”
She said that her father was a beast who beats up her mother in the slightest mistakes using a belt or any instrument he found very close to him. Yet, her mother loved him and endure the marriage.
According to her, “One day, my father brought home another woman into the house saying he just brought in a new wife and everyone should be submissive to her.

This made my mother take the long-awaited action and packed her belongings from the house but he never allowed her to take her daughter.”
Responding to question on how long his father had been sleeping with her. She said that it was immediately after he sent his new wife away. She said she was sleeping on the couch when her father came home very drunk at night and he raped her when she was eleven years old and ever since, he had been sleeping with her.
She said her father open a store for her in front of the house so she will be available anytime he wanted her. She said that she had been submissive because she did not have any friend and confidant.
Also responding to why she had to kill her father, she said “ I met a new boyfriend, Kehinde last year December during the festive period. I fell in love with him and told him all my stories and he told me I have to run away that all that my father has been doing to me was evil and I should expose him to the world which I believed and told him I will never let my father sleep with me again.”
She said that on that same day when she got home, her father called her and she refused, saying further that her father got very angry, slapped her and kept dragging her till she escapes into the kitchen, brought out a sharp knife and stabs him repeatedly until she saw him dead completely and she ran to a nearby police station for help.
A police source who confirmed the incident said that the girl was presently in police custody and they are trying to comfort her, seeing that she looked so dejected while they are still tracing the contact of her mother who lives in Lagos.
