It’s ‘Best Thing for Nigeria – Senator Praises Tinubu’s Fuel Subsidy Removal

Senator Sani Musa, representing Niger East Senatorial District, commended President Bola Tinubu’s decision to end the fuel subsidy in Nigeria, calling it a major positive development for the country.

In an interview with Channels TV on Friday, Musa praised the subsidy removal as a necessary move, noting it was made with the nation’s best interests in mind.

Senator Musa emphasized that this policy decision, though challenging, is ultimately beneficial. “We want to ensure our actions don’t negatively impact Nigerians,” he stated, adding, “Removing the subsidy is the best thing that has happened to this country.”

He highlighted that subsidy removal has increased the funds available for the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC), which provides financial support to state governments. However, he criticized some states for not effectively utilizing these funds to address key issues within their regions.

“If the revenue Nigeria generates, along with FAAC disbursements to states, is properly managed, many challenges could be addressed effectively,” he remarked.
