EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Nigeria Police Force in Katsina Command has neutralised two terrorists and foiled a kidnap attempt on a businessman, according to a statement by CSP Gambo Isah, the Public Relations Officer of the command. Isah said the success was achieved following credible information received about the suspects, which prompted the command to take joint action with other security agencies.
The operation led to the killing of the two suspected terrorists who were reportedly on their way to kidnap a prominent businessman in the state. The police spokesperson added that the suspects met superior power during the operation, and two AK-47 rifles were recovered from them.

The statement further revealed that the corpse of one Samaila Shehu, a notorious suspected terrorist from Tsaunin Kura village in Malumfashi LGA, was found at the scene during the scanning of the area. The police have assured residents of Katsina State of their commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property.

The incident is coming amidst heightened insecurity in different parts of the country, with incidents of kidnapping, banditry, and terrorism on the rise. The Nigerian government has been taking various measures to address the security challenges, including deploying more security personnel to affected areas, adopting a dialogue approach with bandits, and supporting the military and other security agencies with equipment and resources to combat terrorism and other criminal activities.
Despite these efforts, the security situation in some parts of the country remains precarious, with citizens expressing concerns over their safety and security.
