EKO HOT BLOG reports that the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, on Friday, visited the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike in Port Harcourt.

Although the agenda has not been made official, it may not be unconnected to the 2023 general elections.

Kwankwaso, who led a delegation of his party leaders and friends, was said to have held crucial discussions with Wike behind closed doors.

This comes a day after the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, visited Wike.

Kwankwaso, after the meeting which had a former Ekiti Governor Ayo Fayose, in attendance, posed for photographs and left in the evening without disclosing the reason for his visit, The Nation reported.

The politicians have been in close contact despite their political affiliations. Kwankwaso’s political allies are reckoned to be in control of the PDP in Kano despite his defection.

Those allies and supporters were reported to have voted for Wike in the PDP’s presidential primary.
