Tragedy As Lagos DPO Collapses, Dies In Office

CSP Bolaji Olugbenga, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) at Ijanikin Police Station in Lagos State, has reportedly passed away.

Olugbenga collapsed in his office on Thursday night and tragically died before he could be taken to the hospital.

A police officer from the division, who wished to remain anonymous, shared with Daily Trust that the incident has plunged the station into mourning.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the officer confirmed that Olugbenga’s body has since been moved to a mortuary.

“He slumped in the office on Thursday and was quickly rushed to the hospital. But sadly, we lost him,” the officer stated.

As of this report, the state police command has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.

Meanwhile, the Kano State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has apprehended 31-year-old Salisu Bala, who has been engaging in extortion and instilling fear among the public while posing as a police officer.

According to a statement from the Kano Police Command Spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the individual impersonating a police officer resides in Kurna Quarters, located within the Kano metropolis.
