The Executive Secretary, Health Facilities, Monitoring and Accreditation Agency, HEFAMAA, Dr. Abiola Idowu, has said that the agency has registered over 3,400 health facilities across the state to deliver healthcare services to people.
Dr. Idowu stated this at a two-day workshop in Lekki. She said the initial step required to register a health facility with the agency is an application to the Honourable Commissioner for health, after which the facility is inspected and if properly done, would be granted a certificate.

She explained that the agency also carries out other responsibilities including monitoring and inspection of registered facilities to ensure strict cooperation and adherence to standards.
Dr Idowu noted that a technical working committee has been constituted to further review the output of the workshop with a view to taking the consolidated quality assurance as well as approaching general acceptable stakeholders.
Health facilities registered by the agency include hospitals, eye clinics, optical centres, dental clinic, Dr Idowu added.
