The Chairman of TESCOM, Mrs. Olabisi Ariyo, gave the advice at a two-day workshop organised by the Commission on “Classroom Management Strategies and Instructional Methods for Enhancing Teachers’ and Students’ Performance”, held at the Teaching Service Staff Development Centre (TSSDC) Owutu, Ikorodu.
Mrs. Ariyo, represented at the event by Commissioner III, Mr. Adeleke Kara, stressed that teachers need to be more alive to their responsibility as builders and shapers of lives of our future leaders.
She noted that if teachers were more focused and dedicated in imparting knowledge to their students during class sessions, it would definitely eradicate all forms of exam malpractices.
“Teach your students very well in class, not in the exam hall. This will make a positive influence on the students and the future generations”, she added.
She affirmed that the State Government remains committed to rewarding excellence in the Teaching Service as evident in the just concluded Year 2021 Annual Teachers’ Merit Award.
The Chairman also revealed that the Government will, through the Commission, continue to enhance teachers’ performance for better results through periodic training and workshops.
