LASEPA Report: Agege, Surulere Lead Lagos in Air Pollution Levels (Full List)

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has released its latest Air Quality Index, revealing that Agege has the highest and most hazardous air pollution levels in the state.

According to data published on Tuesday, Agege recorded an alarming 103 percent, indicating critical air pollution levels dangerous to residents.

Surulere followed with a “very unhealthy” rating of 76.1 percent. Other areas with high-risk air quality include Mushin (47.3 percent) and LAMATA Kosofe (46 percent), both categorized as “unhealthy.”

The report also listed Lagos Port in Apapa (36.4 percent), Badagry (23.8 percent), and Moloney Street (20.7 percent) as “unhealthy for sensitive groups.” Meanwhile, Egbeda (15.7 percent) and NIMET Oshodi (14.1 percent) were rated as having “moderate” air quality.

General Hospital Ikeja (12.6 percent) and LSDPC Estate on Lagos Island (12.1 percent) also recorded moderate pollution levels.

In contrast, Lekki scored 10.1 percent, representing “good” air quality, and LASEPA’s own station followed with a low reading of 7.6 percent.

LASEPA acknowledged the widespread pollution but assured the public that the agency is taking steps to improve environmental conditions across Lagos.
