A retired U.S. Marine identified as Phillip Blanks said he has saved a baby thrown from a third-floor apartment that was burning.

The 28-year-old man showed a video on social media diving to catch a 3-year-old baby thrown from a three-story building in Phoenix, Arizona, Friday, July 3, 2020.

According to the video, he was going for a work out with his friend who lived next to the burning building and stepped into the scene on hearing people shouting that some kids were trapped in the building.

“I saw another guy was standing there ready to catch the boy, but he didn’t look like he was going to do it, so I stepped in front of him.” Blanks explained.

It was, however, gathered that the boy and his sister, who is 8 years, suffered the fire accident with critical injuries while their mother couldn’t make it.

Blanks attended Kalamazoo Central High School in Michigan before joining the Marines, told WWMT.
