Recently there has been many happenings in WWE that has made fans turn against Goldberg. First of all, Goldberg returned to WWE in 2016 and feuded with Brock Lesnar.
On the way to fighting Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania in 2017, he squashed then Universal Champion, Kevin Owens at just 22 Seconds at Fastlane 2017 to take the WWE Universal Championship from him.
As if that wasn’t enough, he came back in 2020. This time he defeated WWE’s hottest prospect in the person of The Fiend at Super Showdown 2020 to win the WWE Universal Championship from him.
At this past episode of Monday Night RAW, which was RAW Legends Night, Goldberg showed up again. After WWE Champion Drew McIntyre successfully defended his championship against Keith Lee, Goldberg Came out and challenged him to a match at Royal Rumble 2021.
Fans were tired of the decision of WWE to always book Goldberg against young and upcoming talents and some even called for him to retire (he is 53 years old).
