EKO HOT BLOG reports that NAF spokesman, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, disclosed in a statement on Thursday that the operation was carried out on 3 September 2025 as part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts in the North-East.

According to him, the air interdiction mission struck a newly identified terrorist enclave located west of Zuwa in the Sambisa general area. The operation followed credible intelligence and confirmatory surveillance, which revealed that the hideouts were being used by fighters and commanders linked to recent attacks around Bitta.

“The strikes proved devastating, neutralising over 15 terrorists and demolishing key structures critical to their operations,” Ejodame stated.

He explained that the success of the mission had further weakened the operational capacity of the terrorists, demonstrating the air force’s precision, reach, and commitment in the fight against insurgency.

Ejodame emphasised that the NAF would continue to provide crucial air support for ground forces in joint operations, ensuring that the armed groups are denied freedom of movement and safe havens.
