Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has provided financial support to the tune of N40 million for the 2020 National Sports Festival tagged Edo 2020 in tandem with his commitment to the uplift the youth and support for their development.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, which disclosed Governor Bello’s support as the National Sports Festival got underway, expressed appreciation to the youth loving Governor for supporting the fiesta.
The Ministry said it will commit the Fund to providing feeding, transportation and ancillary support to the youths who are the larger participants of the Festival.
The Ministry expressed the belief that other state governors will emulate Governor Yahya Bello in supporting the National Sports Festival as a show of their support for the youth by promoting the fiesta that helps to build their carriers in sports and also a great opportunity to hone their skills and possibly secure tickets to the Tokyo Olympics.
The 20th National Sports Festival in Edo will run from 2-14 of April 2021
