Nations League: Ronaldo Scores As Portugal Defeat Poland 3-1

Ronaldo, Portugal’s captain, struck the crossbar early before Bernardo Silva opened the scoring, volleying home from a knockdown by Bruno Fernandes.

The Al-Nassr forward then doubled Portugal’s lead, slotting in a rebound after Rafael Leao’s shot hit the post following a brilliant run.

This marked Ronaldo’s third goal in three Nations League matches, a notable improvement after going scoreless at Euro 2024. He was substituted for Diogo Jota in the 63rd minute.

Poland reignited hope when Piotr Zielinski fired in a powerful shot to make it 2-1, but an own goal from Southampton’s Jan Bednarek—who accidentally turned in Nuno Mendes’ cross—sealed Portugal’s victory.
