OAU Shuts Down, Declares Two-week Break

  • OAU had been rocked with series of protests by a group of Ife indigenes who decried the non-appointment of an indigene as the Vice Chancellor of the university

  • They invaded the varsity’s campus carrying charms and other fetish objects in protest

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the management of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile -Ife, has announced a two-week mid-semester break, beginning from March 28, 2022.

This was contained in a release made on Saturday, signed by the university’s registrar, Mrs Magaret Idowu Omosule.

The statement read: “This is to inform staff and students of the university that Management, at a meeting held today, Saturday, 26th March, 2022, approved a two-week mid-semester break for students beginning from Monday, 28th March, 2022.

“We wish students of the university an enjoyable break.”

The university had since been rocked with series of protests by a group of Ife indigenes who decried the non-appointment of Ife indigene as the Vice Chancellor of the university.

The protest was, however, recently suspended.
