EKO HOT BLOG reports that Aiyedatiwa made the announcement during the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign flag-off in Ondo West Local Government Area on Saturday.

This decision follows the federal government’s agreement in September with organized labour to set a national minimum wage of ₦70,000 for government employees.

Aiyedatiwa, who took office ten months ago after the passing of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, highlighted his administration’s commitment to improving civil servants’ welfare.

He noted that since assuming office, his government has focused on governance reforms, particularly in the timely payment of salaries and offering training and promotion opportunities.

“While the national minimum wage is set at ₦70,000, we are raising ours to ₦73,000. We remain committed to improving your welfare,” he said. He also urged citizens to turn out in large numbers to support the APC in the November election.
