The team bus of Enugu’s Rangers International Football Club was attacked on Sunday by suspected fans of Plateau United following a goalless draw on Match Day 11 of the 2024/2025 Nigerian Premier Football League in Jos.
Several players and coaches of the Flying Antelopes sustained injuries, with photos and videos circulating on social media showing some of them bleeding.

Rangers’ General Manager, Amobi Ezeaku, condemned the attack, calling it “unwarranted,” and confirmed that the club is taking action to seek justice. He stated that Rangers has submitted a formal petition to the relevant authorities and will pursue the matter until it is thoroughly addressed.
The statement read, “We wish to inform you about the unfortunate incident that occurred during our match against Plateau United in Jos. The attack on our team was unwarranted, and we are taking all necessary steps to ensure justice is served. A petition has been submitted to the relevant authorities, and we will not rest until this issue is thoroughly addressed and resolved.
“Under this administration, the symbol of our great Club must never be disrespected, and we will go to any length to preserve its honor and legacy. Our commitment to upholding the values and pride of Rangers is unwavering.
