A robber caught in an Imo village won’t be robbing anyone again after the villagers hacked him to death after he was caught.
The robber who was one of those who attacked Umuayalum and Isiuzo villages in Egbu community of Owerri North council area of Imo State was caught by irate youths and matcheted to death.
According to witness reports: “A man from the neighbouring village noticed the presence of the hoodlums and quickly alerted his people.

A gun battle ensued when the local vigilante team in the village and scores of youths stormed the scene to confront the robbers. The rampaging robbers were overpowered but the rest ran away, leaving behind the deceased, who was instantly clubbed and matcheted to death.”
The villages prior to catching this robber had been attacked a number of times by robbers but it is doubtful that it would be happening again after the killing of the robber that was caught.
The police has not responded to enquiries about this as at the time of filing this.
