EKO HOT BLOG reports that a Special Adviser to Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle, Hon. Lukman Ibrahim, was abducted by unknown gunmen in the Mareri District of Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State on Saturday.
The victim’s son, Maaji Ibrahim, recounted the harrowing incident, stating that his father was at home when the kidnappers entered their compound by scaling the fence.

“I was in my room when I heard someone jumping into our premises. I immediately went out to investigate, but I was held captive by the armed bandits. They demanded that I take them to my father’s house, and from there, they took him away to an unknown location,” he said.
The son’s account suggests that the kidnappers were armed and dangerous, making it a case of yet another brazen act of criminality in the embattled state.
Kidnapping has become a common occurrence in Zamfara State, with several high-profile abductions and other criminal activities reported in recent months. These incidents have prompted concerns about the worsening security situation in the state, with residents fearing for their safety.
Maaji Ibrahim immediately reported the abduction to the police, who are said to have launched an investigation into the matter. However, no details have been released yet on the progress of the investigation or the identity of the kidnappers.
