The Lagos State Police Command is currently investigating the circumstances that could have led the death of an SS1 student.
13-year-old Juwon, a student of Foldemi Private School located at Ola Farm area of Abaranje, Ikotun, Lagos, has allegedly committed suicide after being accused of sexual molestation.
He was suspended from school after reportedly touching the backside of a female classmate, identified as Chinaza.

When Juwon got home, loneliness took the better part of him as depression and the thought of suicide set in.
He took a bottle of an insecticide known as Snipper, and gulped its content.
Shortly after the suicidal act, his parents returned to meet his semi-dead body.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.
The incidence sparked ire in the community as angry youths and fellow classmates stormed the house of Chinaza, saying she is the cause of Juwon’s death.
The teenage girl escaped lynching through the help of her parents who quickly took her out of the house into a place of hiding where she has been kept now for a while.
The school has been under lockdown until the situation becomes calm to avoid reprisal attacks from irate youths within the community.
