Supreme Court Reserves Judgment On APC’s Appeal Against Adamawa Governor

Eko Hot Blog reports the Supreme Court has deferred its judgment in the appeal lodged by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its governorship candidate in Adamawa State, Aisha Dahiru, widely known as Binani, challenging the victory of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

EDITOR’S PICK:

Both the state election petition tribunal and the Court of Appeal had previously dismissed Binani’s petition contesting the outcome of the governorship election in Adamawa State.

In the proceedings at the Supreme Court on Monday, a five-member panel, presided over by Justice John Okoro, heard the arguments presented by the parties involved in the case.

Following the deliberations, the court adjourned the matter, reserving its judgment for a later date.

The APC and Binani are seeking a reversal of the decisions made by the lower courts, contending that the election was marred by irregularities and electoral malpractices, while Governor Fintiri, on the other hand, maintains that the victory at the polls was legitimate and reflects the will of the people of Adamawa State.

FUTHER READING:

The Supreme Court’s reserved judgment will determine the final legal outcome of the dispute, bringing the protracted legal battle over the Adamawa governorship election results to a close.

Further details will be provided once the judgment is delivered.
