Re-run Election: Works Minister Dave Umahi Backs Gov Nwifuru’s Candidate For Ebonyi South Senate Seat

This endorsement was announced during a Christmas homage to the Governor on Saturday,l.

Expressing delight in the ongoing developmental projects in Ebonyi State under Governor Nwifuru’s leadership, the Minister says he is happy.

“I am so pleased and very happy to be here. Everything about this visit has given me so much joy.

Speaking further, the Minister who was visibly elated emphasized the importance of loyalty, honesty, and commitment to the state’s progress. He commended the Governor’s exemplary track record over the past 16 years, highlighting the reward of loyalty.

“… you see, loyalty is everything, 16 years, I didn’t have any reason to complain about this young man. 16 years, he proved to be very honest. I service loyalty, I show gratitude, whether you are on top of me or below, and it’s loyalty, honesty, and commitment to the project of Ebonyi State that brought my son to be here.

“Whatsoever you do, God is watching because no leadership comes without God. I am here to express gratitude to God and to pay homage to our leader, to our Governor.“

While declaring greatness upon the Governor by Minister Umahi, he pointed out that his style of being a father is such that he wishes his son to be greater than him

“For me, all my children led by the Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru will be greater than me.“

He thanked the Governor for his decision to zone the Ebonyi South Ticket to Onicha and pledged his complete support and that of his family.

“I am here with two of my senior brothers, others could not come but I am sure that by tomorrow or next, Chief Austin Umahi and the remaining ones will come.

“Let me thank the Governor so much for the way he handled the Senatorial Seat of Ebonyi South. The family met and said, look, this Governor is a member of our family, and he is the Governor and he has made pronouncement, that pronouncement must stand. And the family said, we will stand with the Governor, we will stand with our own. And so, wholeheartedly, we will support every move about that by the Governor. “

He reiterated his commitment to ensuring that Ebonyi remains an APC state without allowing any loose ends. “Let me announce to every other political party, Ebonyi State is totally APC, this is the first election the Governor is going to conduct and it’s going to be the best. I wholeheartedly support the Governor’s endorsement, Prof. Anthony Ani for Ebonyi South Senatorial zone.“

In response, Governor Nwifuru expressed overwhelming excitement for the visit and the Minister’s public commendation. He acknowledged the Minister’s legacies and thanked him for his unwavering support in his political journey, expressing deep gratitude for the extraordinary impact on his family. The Governor accepted the visit graciously, recognizing it as a great honor,

“I am seriously overwhelmed by your disposition, by your great show of love, by the legacies you left behind, and by the kind of character you have displayed before all of us. It’s a great challenge to all of us, especially me whom you asked to look after the office of the Governor of Ebonyi State.

At times, the way and manner you present me before the public, I look at myself and say is it me or is it another person? I don’t know when I made such sacrifices, when I built such trust but I know God almighty is the one that builds relationships and that’s the reason God never allowed you to see my shortcomings and you agreed wholeheartedly, sponsored me single-handedly and made me the Governor of Ebonyi State. Sincerely, your Excellency, my humble self, and my entire family and seriously indebted to you and the people of Ohaozara LGA.

“I am not ashamed to say where I come from or to tell you the history or the story of myself. What God has used you to do in my family is extraordinary, so, sincerely I thank you very much.

“This visit is a great one to me that I don’t think I deserve but as the Governor of Ebonyi State, I will take it.

“I want to sincerely thank you very much for supporting me in this journey.”
