Three Radio Stations Burnt to Ashes in Aba (PHOTOS)

A devastating fire swept through three radio stations in Aba, Abia State, on Saturday night, destroying electronic broadcasting equipment worth millions.

The affected stations—Enyimba 94.3 FM, Rose 101.9 FM, and Legend 98.3 FM—were located off Margret Avenue on the PZ axis of the Aba-Owerri Road in the Aba North local government area. Although each station operates independently, they share the same building, which facilitated the rapid spread of the fire.

The Abia State Fire Service was able to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures. According to a staff member, the fire is believed to have originated in the television section of Enyimba TV and Radio Limited, the parent company of the three stations, before spreading to the others.

Fortunately, no lives were lost; however, all broadcasting equipment was destroyed in the fire.

In an official statement, Enyimba TV and Radio Limited announced that it is investigating the cause of the fire and has temporarily suspended operations at all three stations to assess the damage and implement safety measures.
