President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his heartfelt congratulations to President Luong Cuong of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on his historic election.
President Cuong, a respected leader with over 40 years in the Vietnamese military and a Politburo member since 2021, was elected by the Vietnamese parliament to lead the nation.
In a statement on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised President Cuong’s commitment to positioning Vietnam as a reliable partner and an active member of the global community.

President Tinubu reaffirmed Nigeria’s dedication to strengthening ties with Vietnam across various sectors, including trade, agriculture, food production, education, and cultural and technological exchanges.
He conveyed his best wishes for President Cuong’s leadership, both in service to the Vietnamese people and in contributing positively to the broader global community.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu extends his warmest congratulations to President Luong Cuong of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on his election to this esteemed leadership position,” the statement read.
