President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Maiduguri at 3:15 p.m. on Monday afternoon to offer his condolences and support to the government and residents affected by the Alau Dam flood disaster.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that upon arrival, President Tinubu was received by Governor Babagana Zulum. During his visit, the President is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Umar-Garbai El-Kaneni.
Following this, he will visit one of the camps set up for displaced persons to address and offer support to those affected by the flooding.
Tinubu Lands In Maiduguri To Support Flood Victims
The flood, which struck on Monday, has caused extensive damage, submerging nearly half of Maiduguri and resulting in significant loss of life and property.
In response to the disaster, the Borno State Government has established 36 camps to provide shelter and assistance to thousands of displaced individuals.
