BREAKING: Tinubu Sacks Five Ministers, Appoints Seven New Ones

Months after facing growing pressure to reshuffle his cabinet, President Bola Tinubu dismissed five ministers on Wednesday, made new appointments, and reassigned others to different portfolios.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that among those removed from their positions are Uju-Ken Ohanenye, Minister of Women Affairs; Lola Ade-John, Minister of Tourism; Tahir Mamman, Minister of Education; Abdullahi Gwarzo, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development; and Jamila Ibrahim, Minister of Youth Development.

In addition to these dismissals, President Tinubu reassigned 10 ministers to new portfolios.

He also nominated seven new ministers for Senate confirmation, signaling a broader effort to restructure his administration.

Furthermore, the Presidency announced the appointment of Shehu Dikko as the Chairman of the National Sports Commission and Sunday Akin Dare as the Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation.

Dare will operate from the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.

The cabinet shake-up reflects Tinubu’s response to increasing calls for more effective governance and strategic leadership adjustments within his administration.
